Before Erastudio Apartment-Gallery, today Erastudio Design Gallery; a collectible design gallery, founded in Milan in 2010 by Patrizia Tenti in an Apartment on the third floor of a late 19th century building in Brera District. Patrizia loved the idea of exhibiting artworks from designers not in an open space gallery but rather in a ‘void’ apartment; a rugged space devoid of unequivocal connotations inside an early XX century building.
The gallery specializes in the historical artistic movement “Radical Architecture”, a term coined by the art critic Germano Celant in 1972 to indicate the architectural experiments that resulted in the artistic field, in the period of the 60s and 70s, of whom participated, just to name a few: Gianni Pettena, Ettore Sottsass, Ugo la Pietra, Remo Buti. Nine years of an established position in the main international fairs were then held by the collectible design gallery, where the artist and architect Nanda Vigo was the exclusive curator for most of 8 years for the exhibitions and fair such as Art Basel/Miami fair Design section (Design Miami/Basel), Zona Maco art fair, Miart (Modern and Contemporary art fair), Artgenève art fair, Dubai fair. This visibility resulted in some of these artists permeating collections of international public institutions and Museums.
From 2022 Erastudio for contemporary design is inviting artists in Art to explore the world of design from their point of view, and leave ERASTUDIO Projects to approach functional design in all its potential interpretations.
